While researching the recycling sector, she found that industries in need of recyclable materials couldn’t get a reliable supply because people were not segregating waste at the source. That’s when the idea for YouCan was born—a platform that connects waste generators, collectors, and recycling companies to create a seamless waste-to-resource cycle.

The YouCan app operates through two main interfaces. The Waste Generator App is for individuals, households, and businesses that generate waste. They can list their segregated waste on the app and request a pickup. The Waste Collector App ensures that once a waste generator requests a pickup, nearby collectors are notified, allowing them to collect the waste and sell it to recycling companies.

This system offers multiple benefits. For individuals, it provides a chance to earn money from waste instead of discarding it.
